Small Gods Ring

The Small Gods Ring takes its name from the private gods people have always kept close: luck, money, beauty, love, protection, vanity. The list has changed very little.

Cast in sterling silver or brass, the ring is uneven by design and finished by hand to a soft satin surface. Its shape is closer to an old piece of jewellery worn smooth than a conventional signet ring. A lab-grown diamond can be set into the face, or it can be left bare.

Ancient Summer began with the idea that jewellery is one of our oldest habits. We decorated ourselves before we built cities. We still put expensive stones on our hands and hope for things. Small Gods was made in honour of that.

It is for the person with a lucky number who claims not to be superstitious. Who checks their horoscope and then complains about astrology. Who has a ring from a grandmother, an ex or a dead relative that they would never sell. Who touches the same necklace before an important meeting. Who knows perfectly well these things have no power and yet does not always behave accordingly.

Each ring varies slightly in shape and surface.
