Sea and Stones Necklace

The Sea and Stone Necklace is made in two variations: red jasper with rough clear quartz, or red jasper with black freshwater pearls. Jasper has been used for jewellery and carved objects for thousands of years. Here, its dense red is set against materials shaped by two different forces: quartz formed in the earth, or pearls grown in water.

The quartz version is raw, pale and irregular. The pearl version is darker, with the shifting colour and uneven surfaces of black freshwater pearls. Both are anchored by a single red jasper bead.

Sea and Stone is about material before perfection: mineral, shell, colour, weight. Ancient Summer brings them back to the body.

It is for the person who comes home from the beach with their pockets full. Who keeps shells, stones and pieces of glass long after forgetting where they found them. Who still wants to pick things up.

Natural variations in stone and pearl shape, colour and texture are expected. The Sea and Stones Necklace comes in a standard 45cm.
